A registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization of health, human and animal welfare professionals dedicated to promoting the understanding of the relationship between human violence and animal abuse.
We work in health and social services and see victims of household violence who report their pets are often abused. Some work in animal care and welfare, and see abused animals in families with a history of violence.
Studies show a correlation between these forms of abuse: violence to animals and violence to people, now commonly referred to as "the link". We work to educate others in our communities to understand and address this phenomenon.
